We commend the continuing efforts of the Djarfogo International Film Festival at convening an international Jury of competent professionals, academic and critical experts to adjudicate its festival. It was a pleasure to serve on this Jury with erudite film scholars and practitioners.
The Jury sought to recognize the best films in the various categories and to and encourage other competitors to aim for the highest levels of recognition next time around. We are humbled to say the Jury operated independently, without any external influence whatsoever.
We express our gratitude to the Festival Organizing Committee for facilitating our work and for giving us the freedom and opportunity to do our work competently and expeditiously. We are also delighted to recognize two Cape Verdean filmmakers for their commitment to the art of cinema and encourage them to continue learning and growing.
We will now announce the winners.
