DIFF is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Organization. Donors can deduct contributions they make to DIFF under I.R.C. Section 170. DIFF also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.

DIFF integrates an International Film Festival, Africa Film Lab/Filmmaking Mentorship, and an Academic and Cultural Exchange to promote African stories and images by exhibiting Film, visual arts, and other creative mediums. It is an international beacon for the African and Diaspora visual arts community to showcase "Black Narratives" and maintain the cinematic originality of Pan-African and Diaspora Culture.

DIFF's mission is to develop, showcase, and celebrate Cabo Verdean culture and that of the African Continent and the Diaspora. We aim to create and showcase films focused on African culture and history by engaging the local community and youth in creative processes, offering Africa Film Lab/Filmmaking Mentorship, and hosting Cabo Verde's 2nd International Film Market.
